KUCHING – Hundreds of shoppers from all walks of life stopped by the Pro-Life exhibition booth put up by the Pro-Life Group (under the Association of Churches in Sarawak) on 19 October at tHe SPRING Shopping Mall.
A quiz competition was held as part of the exhibition, and families and couples worked hard to look for the correct answers on the exhibition boards. For some, a normal Sunday family outing turned into a workshop. Ninety entries were received, of which 29 had all the correct answers. Two prizes of RM50 each were awarded to the winners.
There was good interaction and the Pro-Life Group members were kept very busy answering queries and listening to life-stories. One man said, “I was the one who found the dead baby dumped at Wisma Saberkas two years ago.” Another said, “I have a few children of my own and I’ve also adopted a few children.” One man openly lamented on the loss of his two babies through premature births.
Many children were curious with the exhibition material. They spontaneously touched the models of fetuses in different stages of development in the womb.
It was clear that pro-life and abortion issues attract the public, irrespective of race or religion.
