MUKAH – “Love each other in order to grow as God is love.” This was part of a message given by Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Hii to about 150 parishioners during a dinner in his honour hosted by the Parish Council of St Peter and Paul’s Church on a visit to Mukah on 19 October.
The Auxiliary Bishop also urged the people to pray for more vocations to the priesthood. He noted that at the moment most of the parishes in the Diocese of Sibu only have one priest serving there.
In his address, Rector of the Parish, Fr Michael Lee, encouraged the parishioners to do their part to build up the local faith community – this could be achieved by showing love and support for each other, and by supporting activities or projects carried out by the Parish Council.
The Auxiliary Bishop was in Mukah to preside over a Mass where the Sacrament of Confirmation was administered. A total of 144 parishioners received the Sacrament.
