LUNDU – On 28 March, a Joint Christian Prayer Service in conjunction with the 201st anniversary of the Police Force was held at Holy Spirit Church. About 20 police personnel of different Christian denominations serving in the Lundu Police Station participated in the service, presided by Fr John Chong of St Stephen’s Parish.
During his homily, Fr John reminded the police personnel in attendance to serve in accordance with the values of the Gospel. He encouraged them to stay away from practices which could tarnish the good image of the Force and of themselves.
After the service, everyone present gathered for refreshments at the adjacent Catholic Centre. As a sign of gratitude and brotherhood, the leader of the group, Sargent Serei Ak Lajan, handed over a token of appreciation to the Church.
