SINGAPORE – A total of 39 participants from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam took part in a Family Symposium hosted by the Singapore Family Life Service from 25-27 April at the Orchid Country Club.
The Symposium focused on Family Life and the Church in South East Asia Region and Current issues and Challenges in the Family.
The Symposium was graced by Archbishop Nicholas Chia of Singapore.
In his opening address, the Archbishop noted that families of today face so many changes and challenges in every sphere of life. Some factors which threaten to destroy the integrity of the family are the anti-God, anti-moral and secularistic ideologies which are changing the way families think.
Archbishop Nicholas Chia stressed that the very foundation of family life must be protected at all costs.
