Sometimes I have to pinch myself. Half of 2008 going, going, gone. Too fast it seems, and so much going on in our lives and all over the world. No time to do this and that. While many of us are feeling the pinch of rising food prices, millions in China and Burma reel in the aftershock of death, disease, disorientation and no food to eat.
Not just that, literally millions are homeless, childless and lifeless. Survivors may be pinching themselves in a desperate attempt to wake up from this horrific nightmare. Total devastation. Time for them is at a standstill. Imagine that.
Here we are in the Land of the Hornbills, truly blessed if our main grouse is the extra couple of ringgit for kolo mee! For me, the coming Gawai Dayak harvest festival is a timely reminder. That we still have rice to harvest, we still have houses to go home to, and loved ones to live with. I will take time to stop and smell the roses along the way because you never know.
A blessed Gawai Dayak to all!
